Theresa Kronebusch

Theresa A. Kronebusch, age 88, of Oak Ridge, passed away on Tuesday, January 14, 2020, surrounded by the love of her family, after a long and brave fight with cancer.

She was born on August 6, 1931, in Winona County, to Andrew and Katherine (Kirch) Schlink.  She was united in marriage with Gerald Kronebusch on October 16, 1948, at St. Joseph’s Church in Winona, and he preceded her in death on January 7, 2001.

Theresa was a former long-time member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church at Oak Ridge, and was presently a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Altura, and its St. Theresa and St. Nicholas Societies.

She will be remembered for her enjoyment of playing cards with her sons, fishing, trips to the casino, and camping at Bass Camp where she earned the nickname “Mother Theresa.” Theresa and Gerald enjoyed traveling, and some of their most memorable trips were to Hawaii, Alaska, and Germany.

A dedicated homemaker, Theresa worked hard on the family farm alongside her husband, and would dutifully can and freeze their garden produce each year.  Her greatest joy in life was her family, which she enjoyed to the very end, and was a loving mom to nine children, 22 grandchildren, and 33 great-grandchildren.  She will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved her.

Theresa is lovingly survived by her children: Joe (Kay) Kronebusch, Ruth (Willy) Rother, the late David (Joan) Kronebusch, Andy (Cindy) Kronebusch, LeRoy (SueLynn) Kronebusch, Dale Kronebusch, Mary (Randy) Nilsestuen, Ed (Kathy) Kronebusch, and Sue Ann Kronebusch; 21 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters: Hycynthia Walters and Christina Bender; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; grandson: Zachariah Kronebusch; sisters: Clara Andring, Mildred Golish, Marie Mueller, and Susie Richie; as well as numerous brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

Visitation will be held from 3 PM until 7 PM on Friday, January 17, 2020, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Rollingstone, and again at the church on Saturday, January 18, 2020, from 10 AM until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM.  Father Timothy Biren will officiate. Theresa will be laid to rest in St. Mary’s Cemetery at Oak Ridge.

Pallbearers will be Theresa’s sons and sons-in-law.
