Steven "Willy" Wilson

Steven R. “Willy” Wilson, age 67, of Winona, passed away on Monday, April 29, 2019, at the Gundersen Health System in La Crosse.

He was born on February 12, 1952, in Winona, to Wilford and Mary Ann (Babler) Wilson.  Steve was a graduate of Winona Senior High School, and he honorably served his country with the United States Navy from 1974-1978.  Steve was employed for many years with EMD and later Benchmark Electronics.

Steve will be remembered for his enjoyment of watching sports, especially the Minnesota Twins and the Minnesota Vikings; bowling on several leagues;  and as a resident of Sauer Health Care, he participated in Wii bowling.  Steve had a great love of music – especially 1960’s classic rock, and he cherished the time that he spent with his family and friends.  He was a member of St. Martin’s Evangelical Lutheran Church.

Steve is survived by several aunts, an uncle, and numerous cousins.  He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be held from noon until the funeral service at 2 PM on Saturday, May 4, 2019, at the Watkowski-Mulyck Funeral Home.  The Reverend Richard A. Moore will officiate.  Steve will be laid to rest in the Pickwick Cemetery where the American Legion Leon J. Wetzel Post 9 will provide military honors.
