Sandra Richardson

Sandra L. Richardson, age 84 and on hospice care, passed away peacefully early morning on Thursday, May 14, 2020, with her husband of 64 years, Rev. Harold Richardson, by her side.

Sandy was born in 1935 in Bristol CT, to Vernon and Mildred Blashke.  She has a sister, Karin McGee, and a half-brother, Bruce Avery.  She met Harold in their early college years, and they were married in 1956.   Harold and Sandy started their family in St. Paul, MN, where their three children were born, Dawn Selleck of Winona, Pam Richardson of Winona, and Randy Richardson of OH.  They then moved to Stratford, IA, then on to Lakewood, CO, Pelican Rapids, MN, Moorhead, MN, and Crete, NB, where Harold served as pastor of churches in each place.  They retired in Bluefield, WV until finally moving to Winona, MN in 2012 to be near family.   They have 6 grandchildren, one of which, Tyler Selleck, proceeded her in death.  There are now 10 great grandchildren.

Sandy was a dedicated wife, mother, grandma, and great grandma.  She enjoyed cooking, baking, and serving food for her family, the church families, and many friends and family members that came through to visit.  While in Crete, NB she ran a bed & breakfast in their home called “The Parson’s House”.  Entertaining brought her great joy.

Due to the virus there will be no service now.  However, we hope to have a memorial service at a later date, perhaps on her birthday, July 25.
