Robert J. “Bobby” Bambenek, Jr., age 67, of Winona, passed away on Friday, January 24, 2020, at his home.
He was born on December 31, 1952, in Winona, to Robert and Lorraine (Stark) Bambenek, Sr., and was employed with Winona ORC Industries and the Developmental Achievement Center.
Bobby was a huge fan of the Green Bay Packers, and loved his brother Gary’s Japanese Chin, Mia. He will be remembered for his enjoyment of camping, fishing, and he looked forward to trips to the casino and playing scratch-offs. He was a member of St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Minnesota City.
Bobby is lovingly survived by his brothers: Gary (fiancée Nancy Pruka) Bambenek, and Mike Bambenek; nephews: Gary, Jr., Brandon, and Terrence Bambenek; a special aunt, Barb Thomas; a special cousin, Betty Thomas; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be held from 4 PM until the time of a Christian Wake Service at 6 PM on Thursday, January 30, 2020, at the Watkowski-Mulyck Funeral Home. Visitation will also be held from 9 AM until the Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM on Friday, January 31, 2020, at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Minnesota City. The Reverend Glenn Frerichs will officiate. Bobby will be laid to rest in the church cemetery.
