Lorna Jean Betsinger

August 13, 1939 ~ June 21, 2020 (age 80)

Our dear Lorna Jean (Moger) Betsinger died at home in Pickwick, MN with her loved ones, at the age of 80 on Sunday, June 21, 2020.

Lorna was born to Carl and Gladys (Knutson) Moger on August 13, 1939 in Lanesburo, MN.  She attended Highland Rural Element School and graduated from Lanesburo High School in 1957. She married W. Gene Betsinger (High School Sweethearts) at Highland Lutheran Church on June 4, 1958.  Gene was serving in the U.S. Navy and they were stationed in Keme Saya, Japan, which was a fabulous experience for a farm girl from Minnesota.

Returning to Minnesota their son Rick was born in Winona, MN in 1961, and their son Rob was born in 1962 after the family moved to Springfield, MO.

The young family returned to Minnesota to be able to spend time with family & friends and found a permanent home in Pickwick, MN.   They relished all outdoor activities; hiking, fishing, boating, and gardening, to name a few.  They also enjoyed loved motorcycling through most of the U.S.

Lorna received her Associates Degree in Graphic Arts and worked at several Art Studios in La Crosse, WI for 20 years. After retirement she volunteered for Red Cross Blood Drives, the Winona Historical Society, Children’s Daycare, the Minnesota Marine Art Museum, and many projects at St. Luke’s WELS Church in Pickwick, MN.

She enjoyed attending music concerts, theater performances, sewing and reading.

She is preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Carl and Jon.  She is survived by her husband, Gene, her sons Rick and Rob, and her sister Gloria (Moger) Hennessey.

In lieu of flowers please donate to St. Luke’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Pickwick, MN, or Hospice at Gundersen Health System, La Crosse, WI.
