Gary Drazkowski

Gary Paul Drazkowski, age 68, of Winona, succumbed to cancer peacefully at home with his daughter by his side on Thursday, February 11, 2021.

He is survived by his daughter: Bridget (Brad) Morgan; grandchildren: Allison and Emily; daughter-in-law: Tracey Drazkowski; grandchildren: Brad (Brittany), Jessica, Kaylee and Luke, and great-granddaughter: Grayce, all of Dubuque, IA; siblings: Dennis (Diane) Drazkowski, the Philippines; Lauri (Billy) Colflodt, Hereford, AZ;  Debra Ramer, Fountain City, WI; Danelle (Eddie) Kujak, New Prague, MN; as well as many nieces and nephews that he loved as his own; and life-long family friend, Steve Cooker.  He was preceded in death by his son, Brandon; father: Dennis M. Drazkowski; mother: Kathleen M. Nordrum; sister, Leilani Bogle; and brother, Jerome Drazkowski.

Gary graduated from and then taught at the Minneapolis School of Communication Arts, then worked in the control room for CVN-Cable Value Network, before launching a successful Karaoke business that lasted 25 years.  Over the years, Gary was a member of the following bands: Gary and the Moonmen with Carleton Fish and Keith Springer; New Research; X-IT; Acorn Motel Band; and TSS – The Sensational Sixty’s Band.  He also played with his father, Denny Martin (Drazkowski) in various Dixieland/Big-Band/Swing combos. He has brought many smiles to many people and is loved by so many.

A celebration of Gary’s life is being planned for a future date when we can gather safely, and will be announced later.

A special thank you to Hospice of Winona for being so kind and caring to Gary and family during such a difficult time.
