Yvonne R. Schroeder

Yvonne Ruth (Albrecht) Schroeder, age 100, of Winona, passed away on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, at Lake Winona Manor.

She was born on November 17, 1925, in La Crosse, WI, to Theodore and Frieda (Goetting) Albrecht.

Yvonne was confirmed on May 12, 1940, at St. Luke’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Pickwick, and was united in marriage with Raymond Schroeder on August 26, 1944, also at St. Luke’s. He preceded her in death on November 2, 2008.

Yvonne was employed for many years at the Winona Knitting Mills, and later with Bodega and New Villa in La Crosse until her retirement.

Yvonne and Ray raised their three daughters in Dakota, MN, later moving to Winona.

She will be remembered for her enjoyment of playing cards, putting puzzles together, and visiting with family and friends. Yvonne also enjoyed going for rides, and she was always ready to go out to eat. An excellent cook and baker, Yvonne’s fish and meatballs were her specialty, and everyone looked forward to her sour cream cutout cookies at Christmas.

She was a member of St. Matthew’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Winona.

Yvonne is lovingly survived by her daughters: Karen (Herb) Hundorf, Kay (Harlan) Larsen, and Connie Corcoran; 7 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; 15 great-great-grandchildren; as well many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond; grandson, Shawn Corcoran; parents, Theodore (Ted) and Frieda (Goetting) Albrecht; brother: Wayne (Mabel) Albrecht; sister: Lois (Paul) Erdmann; and in-laws: John Sr. and Ida (Mades) Schroeder.

Visitation will be held from 10 AM until the funeral service at 11 AM on Monday, August 17, 2026, at the Watkowski-Mulyck Funeral Home, 376 E. Sarnia, St., Winona. Pastor Winfried Schroeder will officiate.

Yvonne will be laid to rest at the Pickwick Cemetery.
