YVONNE LOIS FIX

Yvonne Lois Fix, age 85, of Winona, went to her eternal rest on Thursday, November 12, 2015, in the comfort of her home surrounded by her loving family.

She was born at home in Chatfield, MN, on October 9, 1930, to Edwin and Lorena (Kohlmeyer) Bicknese.   She attended several country schools in the Chatfield and Stewartville areas, and graduated from the Chatfield High School in 1947.

Yvonne was united in marriage with Robert Fix on August 25, 1950, in Winona.  She was employed as a bookkeeper for 15 years at Gamble Robinson Company, and then at Schultz Transit, Inc., from where she retired in 1991 after 29 years.

She was a member of St. Martin’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Winona, its Altar Guild, Women’s Guild, and also enjoyed serving with the funeral lunch committee.

Yvonne enjoyed the time she and Bob spent wintering in Arizona and Palm Springs, CA.  She will be remembered for the way in which she lived a simple and content life, and the way that she found happiness in her family and friends.  Yvonne had a strong work ethic, and her faith gave resilience in dealing with life’s challenges.  She was a loving wife, mom, and grandma who always put others first.

Yvonne is lovingly survived by her husband, Robert, Winona; son: Steven (Linda) Fix, Winona; daughter: Sharon (Dana Busch) Fix, Bloomington, MN; grandson: Nathan Fix, Chaska, MN; granddaughter: Stephanie (Jason) Baumann, Burnsville, MN; step-great-granddaughter: Sidney Baumann; sisters-in-law: Violet Bicknese; Dolores Vondrashek, Winona; Pauline (Herb) Peter, Winona; Joan Squires, Buffalo City, WI; brother-in-law: Larry (Diane) Fix, Mankato, MN; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother: Gerald Bicknese; and a brother-in-law: Thomas Fix.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM on Monday, November 16, 2015, at St. Martin’s Evangelical Lutheran Church.  The Reverend Richard A. Moore will officiate.

Yvonne will be laid to rest in Woodlawn Cemetery.

Visitation will be held at the Watkowski-Mulyck Funeral Home on Sunday, November 15, 2015, from 2 PM until 4 PM, and also at St. Martin’s Evangelical Lutheran Church on Monday, November 16, 2015, from 10 AM until the time of the service.

It is respectfully suggested that memorials be directed to St. Martin’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Winona Area Hospice Services, or to a favorite charity.
