Wayne E. Kronebusch

Wayne Edward Kronebusch, age 83, of Rollingstone, MN, died on September 18, 2025, at the Mayo Clinic Hospital - St. Mary’s Campus in Rochester, MN. He was born on March 28, 1942, to Cyril and Mary Kronebusch. He grew up on Oak Ridge, graduating from Holy Trinity High School. He attended college in Winona at St. Mary’s University receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry.

On July 22, 1967, he married the love of his life, Margaret Ann Bartelson, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Rushford. After living a short time in Winona, the new couple moved to the family farm on Oak Ridge. A few years later they built a home near Rollingstone where they raised their two children, Cary and Lin.

Wayne worked for Fiberite for over 30 years and then several more years at RTP. Wayne was always quick to offer an extra hand to friends and family with their home projects, sharing his knowledge of construction and remodeling.

He and Margaret spent summer days at the Kronebusch family farm on Oak Ridge caring for the buildings and enjoying the land. The farm brought them immense joy. A joy that he passed on to his children and grandchildren. Many hours were spent traveling across the land in a UTV taking in the fields, wildlife, and livestock.

His other passions included time with his children and grandchildren, travel, Mustang rides, woodworking, Pork and Plants, auctions, antiquing, and stops at Kwik Trip for a soda. He was a member of the National Autumn Leaf Collector’s Club and Winona County Old Settlers Association.

Wayne was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend. His humor, smile, generous spirit, and joy for life will be greatly missed.

Survivors include his children, son, Cary (Susan) Kronebusch, Winona, MN; daughter, Linette (John) Allison, Maple Grove, MN; grandchildren, Riley Allison, Julia Kronebusch, Tyler Kronebusch, and Leila Allison; sister, Diane (Steve) Pitzen; as well as other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret; parents, Cyril and Mary; and dear friends, Butch and Elaine Luksa.

Visitation will be held at Watkowski-Mulyck Funeral Home, 376 E. Sarnia St., Winona, on Saturday, September 27, 2025, from 10:00 AM until a prayer service at 11:30 AM. Burial will be held privately.

Wayne will be laid to rest in St. Mary’s Cemetery at Oak Ridge.
