Teresa "Terri" Block

Teresa "Terri" Block, 57, of Winona, MN passed away Thursday June 20, 2024, in the comfort of her home while surrounded by her loving family in person and via phone after a courageous four-year battle with breast cancer.

Terri was born August 18, 1966, to Charles and Rita (Madden) Meier in Winona, MN. Terri attended Winona Cotter and graduated in 1985. 

Terri worked for Randall Foods for 7 years and Shopko for 22 years.

On October 7, 2000, she was united in marriage to Daniel Block, of Winona, MN.

Terri was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Winona. Terri enjoyed gymnastics when she was younger, playing softball when she attended Winona Cotter, cooking, needle point, gardening, Caribbean cruises and spending time with family and friends. Terri will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Terri is survived by her husband, Dan; brothers and sisters: Jeanne (Jeff) Kramer, Owatonna, MN; Paul Meier, Winona; Pat (Jayne) Meier, Winona; Mike Meier, Winona; Bill (Melissa) Meier, La Crosse, WI; and Ann (Dennis) Bares, Bonita Springs, FL; brother-in-law Allyn Ellinghuysen, Lewiston, MN; 16 nieces and nephews; 13 great nieces and nephews; and other extended family and many friends.

Terri was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Rita Meier; a sister, Kathy Ellinghuysen; and her in-laws, Darold and Leona Block.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11 AM on Thursday, June 27, 2024, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Winona.  Fr. Russell Scepaniak will officiate.  Interment will be at Trinity Ev. Lutheran Cemetery, Wilson.

Visitation will be held from 4 PM until 7 PM on Wednesday, June 26, 2024, at the Watkowski-Mulyck Funeral Home, 376 E. Sarnia St., Winona, where a Christian Wake Service will be held at 6:30 PM. Visitation will also be held in the Commons of St. Mary's Catholic Church on Thursday, June 27, 2024, from 10 AM until the time of the Mass.

Pallbearers will be: Jesse Ellinghuysen, Matthew, Britney, CJ, Cameron and Nicholas Meier.

Terri and Dan would like to extend their deepest appreciation to the Gundersen Health System Doctors & Nurses and the Winona Hospice Care Team for their wonderful care of Terri while she courageously battled breast cancer.
