TERESA ANN (KRONEBUSCH) MROZEK

Teresa Ann (Kronebusch) Mrozek, known as Tess to her family, Terri to her friends, and "Mom" to many, passed away unexpectedly at her home January 13, 2016, from complications related to diabetes.

Teresa was born to Francis (Fritz) J. Kronebusch and Gladys (Lynn nee Caple), on May 3, 1949, the third eldest of eleven children. She graduated from Winona Senior High School in 1967.  In 1969, she married Phillip O. Mrozek, and they later divorced. Together they had three children.

Those that knew her would say she made the best blueberry and cherry cream cheese pies; however none of which could hold a candle to her Holiday Cookies. She was always proud of "her" recipe. Teresa's artistic ability would show with each elaborate and very detailed cookie she would "decorate." The best part of making the cutout cookies was being together and making a mess, but what made her the happiest were that her daughters and grandchildren loved it as much as she did.

Teresa also had an amazing love for animals. They were more than pets to her they were her companions and her "fur children." That love for animals has been passed on to each of her children and grandchildren.

What made her an amazing mother is she went back to school in 1984 to earn a degree in Respiratory Therapy.  Immediately upon graduation, she became employed with the Mayo Clinic on June 2, 1986, where she continued to work with one career change to telecommunications until her retirement on November 1, 2010.

Teresa will be dearly missed by her children: Mischelle (Greg Moga) Abts, Dodge, WI; John Mrozek, Byron, MN; Lisa (Sean) Hamernick, Altura, MN; grandchildren and great-grandson: Jada(Matthew Sherman) Blom, Stockton, MN; Kayla Blom and Beau Hamernick,  Altura, MN; and Walker Sherman; brothers and sisters: Kathy (Jerry) Turner, Long Prairie, MN; Ken (Delores) Kronebusch, Mobile, AL; Ann (Howard) Walsh, Crestwood, IL; Jim (Lauri) Kronebusch, Winona, MN; Dick (Donna) Kronebusch, Lake City, MN; Judy Kronebusch, Rochester, MN; Donald (Kathy) Kronebusch, Waseca,MN, Ronald (Sandy) Kronebusch, Money Creek, MN; Randy (Rita) Kronebusch, Winona, MN, and Mark (Brenda) Kronebusch, Homer, MN. She also has many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

Preceding her in death were both of parents and her son-in-law, Bill Abts.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 12:30 PM on Tuesday, January 19, 2016, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Winona.  The Reverend James Berning will officiate.

Teresa will be laid to rest in St. Mary’s Cemetery at Oak Ridge.

Visitation will be held at the Watkowski-Mulyck Funeral Home on Monday, January 18, 2016, from 4 PM until 7 PM.  There will not be any visitation held on Tuesday – please meet at the church for the Mass.

Mayo Clinic is doing a memorial fund in Teresa's name to the cardiac unit as requested by her children.
