Shirley A. Theis

Shirley Ann Theis, age 93, of Winona, passed away on Wednesday, May 29, 2024, at Benedictine – St. Anne in Winona.

She was born on August 27, 1930, in Winona, to Marcellus and Virginia (Parks) Theis.  Shirley attended Winona Public Schools and graduated from Winona High School.

Shirley worked at the Watkins Company in Winona as a Purchasing Expeditor in the Purchasing Department, retiring after 46 years of service.

She enjoyed going to movies, doing crossword puzzles, watching game shows, bowling, biking, walking, and living in Winona.  She was a member of the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart in Winona.

Shirley will be best remembered as being a classy dresser, who always had her nails and hair well-groomed.  She took great pride in her home and yard and enjoyed working both inside and out.

Shirley is survived by several cousins, as well as her special friends: Shirley, David, Marybeth, and Dan. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Shirley’s family would like to extend a special thank you to the caregivers at Benedictine – St. Anne.  Shirley was so appreciative of the kindness and care she received, and you all became family to her.

Visitation will be held in the Chapel of Benedictine – St. Anne in Winona on Wednesday, June 5, 2024, from 10 AM until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM.   The Very Reverend Mark C. McNea will officiate.

Shirley will be laid to rest at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
