Ruth N. Abraham

Ruth N. Abraham, age 92, of Winona, passed away on Wednesday, January 31, 2024, at the Winona Health Hospital.

She was born on March 28, 1931, in Winona, the only child of Edwin and Evelyn (Steber) Schreiber, and was a graduate of Winona High School. Ruth was united in marriage with Allyn “Bud” Abraham on September 3, 1949, at St. Martin’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Winona, and he preceded her in death on May 9, 2015.

In the early 70s, Bud and Ruth relocated to Eau Claire, WI, for Bud’s job.  While in Eau Claire, they were active members of Epiphany Lutheran Church.  After Bud passed away, Ruth returned to Winona, and was a member of St. Martin’s Ev. Lutheran Church where she enjoyed volunteering and helping with various functions and activities at the church.

She will be remembered as a devoted mother and dedicated homemaker who enjoyed canning, her flower gardens, and visiting with her friends and neighbors.

Ruth is lovingly survived by her children: Ronald (Roxy) Abraham, Winona; and Eileen (Carl) Maki, Winona; daughter-in-law: Cynthia Abraham, Elk Mound, WI; grandchildren: Craig (Christy) Abraham, Mesa, AZ; Jennifer (Gabriel) Atencio, Parker, CO;   Julie (John) Duff,  Cave Creek, AZ; Ramie Abraham, Winona; Ethan (Moriah) Fagen, Menomonie, WI; and Grace Maki, Winona; great-grandchildren: Paige and Ashley Abraham, and Ian and Andrew Atencio; brother-in-law: Richard (Merida) Abraham; sister-in-law: Lois Abraham; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband; son, Steven; and her parents.

Funeral services will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, February 10, 2024, at St. Martin's Ev. Lutheran Church in Winona.  The Reverend Richard A. Moore will officiate.  Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.

Visitation will be held at the Watkowski-Mulyck Funeral Home, 376 E. Sarnia St., Winona, on Friday, February 9, 2024, from 4 PM until 7 PM, where a devotional service will be held at 6:30 PM.  Visitation will also be held at St. Martin's Ev. Lutheran Church on Saturday, February 10, 2024, from 10 AM until the time of the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully asks that memorials be directed to St. Martin’s Ev. Lutheran Church, or to a charity of choice.
