Ronald G. Armstrong, age 82, of Winona, passed away on October 31, 2023, at Cottagewood Memory Care in Rochester, MN, from complications of Parkinson’s.

He was born on February 23, 1941, in Winona, and graduated from Winona High School in 1959.  Ronald honorably served his country with the United States Army in Germany.

Ronald worked at Lake Center, then at Master Tool and Die and at J and E Manufacturing in the Twin Cities area as a Tool and Die Maker and a boss. 

On February 27, 1987, he married Kathe Kramer Stuteville, the love of his life.  They traveled throughout the USA and Canada, also enjoying trips to Hawaii and Alaska.  They lived in Surprise, AZ, for almost 8 years, and then moved back to Winona. 

Ronald is survived by his wife, Kathe; her children: Scott Stuteville; Shelly (John) Mattson; and Sheila (Scott) Terry; grandchildren: Bekah Terry and Andy (Emily) Mattson; his two children from a previous marriage: Sean Armstrong and Shannon Armstrong; grandchildren: Caty Mullin, Miranda (Wes) Swan, and Isaiah Armstrong; 4 great-grandchildren; sisters: Donna Harcey, Mary (Bill) Schultz, and Bonnie (Terry) McKown; an uncle, Dave (Joy) Armstrong; as well as other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his son, Eric; loving mother, Ruth Armstrong; grandparents, Perry and Hilda Armstrong; and a brother-in-law: Ron Harcey.

A celebration of Ronald’s life will be held in the spring.
