Roger Orlikowski

Roger J. Orlikowski, age 83, of Winona, MN, passed away peacefully in his home where he wanted to be with his wife Mary on December 3, 2020.

He was born in Winona, MN to Victor and Elizabeth (Kellog) Orlikowski on November 22, 1937.  Roger attended St. John’s Catholic School in Winona, and later also attended Winona Area Technical College where he received a Diploma in Airframe and Power Mechanics on July 30, 1971.

In Roger’s working career he did many things.  His first job was at Budnick’s Garage as an auto mechanic for many years.  He would later work Construction and was part of the crew that built the bridge on I-90 from Minnesota to La Crosse, WI.  He also worked for Walchak Concrete, as well as Ramer’s Fish as a fisherman, smoking fish, and delivering orders all throughout the Midwest.

Roger’s interests included playing cards and Cribbage with as wife and many lifelong friends.  He also really enjoyed going to the Casino, fixing cars, and woodworking which then lead him to building Grandfather clocks as well as furniture.  Later in life, his biggest hobby was to find clocks rummage sailing, then fixing them.  He also had a huge love for all his pets over the years.

Roger is survived by his wife Mary (Herrick) Orlikowski; his three daughters: Debbie Fenske, Winona; Audra (Karl) Erickson, Rollingstone, MN; and Pam (Brad) Smith, Portsmouth, VA.  He is also survived by his 7 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, and a brother: Arthur (Mitz) Orlikowski, Ottawa, IL; as well as other relatives and friends.

Roger was preceded in death by his parents, and his brothers: Richard, Donald, Victor, and Raymond; and his sister, Jeanette.

A funeral service will be held at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, December 29, 2020, at the Watkowski-Mulyck Funeral Home, 376 East Sarnia Street, with Deacon Justin Green officiating.  A private family burial will be held at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
