Roger R. Frankum

Roger R. Frankum, age 66, of Minnesota City, passed away on Sunday, August 30, 2026, at his home.

He was born on March 25, 1960, in Winona, to Raymond and Ethel (Willard) Frankum. On March 20,1981, Roger married Susan Brabbit in Winona, and together they enjoyed 45 years of marriage.

Roger was a self-employed mechanic for many years and was also a welder with Nelson Global – a job which he truly enjoyed.

He will be remembered for his love of carpentry, deer hunting, and for listening to country and rock music. Roger enjoyed working on and restoring old trucks, and he was especially proud of the complete rebuild of his 1979 Ford F-150. His greatest joy in life was his family, and he cherished the time that he spent with his grandchildren. He will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved him the most.

Roger is lovingly survived by his wife, Susan, and their children: Roger (Kara) Frankum, Amy (John) Schroeder, Danny (Shawnee) Frankum, and Spencer (Anna) Frankum; he was the proud Papa to Alessa, Gavin, Ashlyn, Gabriela, Grahym, Makenna, Kinslie, Kaelyn, Audrina, Arabella, Rae, and Deacon; his siblings: Ron Frankum, Gwen (Mike) Sheeley, and Valerie Christianson; his beloved golden retrievers, Zoey and Zeus; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings: Nyla, Bob, and Jim; and his dog, Shelby.

A celebration of Roger’s life will be held at the Watkowski-Mulyck Funeral Home, 376 E. Sarnia St., Winona, on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, from 4 PM until 7 PM.
