Roger A. Brommerich

Roger A. Brommerich, age 73, of Winona, passed away on Friday, March 27, 2026, at his home.

He was born on May 7, 1952, in Winona, to Elmer and Hazel (Otis) Brommerich. Roger was united in marriage with Cynthia L. Philipps on October 16, 1971, at the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart in Winona, and she preceded him in death on November 8, 2018.

Roger was employed for many years with the Philipps Bus Service as a driver and mechanic until his retirement.

As a lover of cars, Roger was an avid fan of NASCAR and raced at the Fountain City Speedway. He also enjoyed baking with Cindy, gardening, woodworking, as well as anything to do with trains, especially enjoying his model railroad that he built.

His greatest joy in life was his family, and he especially cherished the time spent with his grandchildren. He will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved him the most.

Roger is lovingly survived by his children: Jason (Christina) Brommerich, Scott (Wendy) Brommerich, and Mary Jo Mason; grandchildren: Kaleb, Owen, Tiffany, Benjamin, and Ellie; sister: Ruth Gaedy; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Cindy; parents, Elmer and Hazel; and siblings: Ken and Bonnie.

Visitation will be held at the Watkowski-Mulyck Funeral Home, 376 E. Sarnia St., Winona, on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, from 10 AM until the funeral service at 11 AM. Pastor Michael Short will officiate. Following the service, burial will be held at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
