Robert Otto Marin, age 80, of Fountain City, WI, passed away in the evening of Saturday, October 4, 2025, at Benedictine - St Anne in Winona.
Robert was born in Rushford, MN, on September 27, 1945, to Otto and Violet (Kingsley) Marin. He had worked for several places throughout his lifetime some of which included: Western Technical College in La Crosse, WI, as a teacher in autobody; owned and operated Bob’s Paint and Body; Yellow Cab of Winona, MN, as their mechanic; and before finally retiring, at Acuity Brands in Winona, MN.
Robert had a passion for working on vehicles, being around his family (especially his little buddy Ben, whom he talked about to everyone), and watching NASCAR.
He met his wife and love of his life, Kathleen, in 1964, and they were married on September 18, 1965, at St. Stanislaus Kostka Church. They had two children, Stacey and Jason.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Otto and Violet Marin; his parents-in-law, Bennett and Ceicilia Kaiser; sister: Jean Michaelson; daughter, Stacey Ann; sister and brother-in-law, Lois and Ralph Schultz; brothers-in-law: Robert Glodowski, Bernie Jaszewski, Otis Sacia, and David Storlie; and a sister-in-law: Gerry Storlie.
He is survived by his son, Jason; sisters: Rose Ernster; brother: Donald Marin; brother-in-law: Richard Kaiser; sisters-in-law: Judy Sacia and Dianne Glodowski; grandchildren: Trevor, Ally (Wadewitz) Haedtke, Jane Marin, Kyle Marin, and Dakota, Journey (Walters) Anderson; a great-grandson, Bennett Marin (Jane's son); great-granddaughter: Oliva Haedtke (Trevor and Ally's); as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11 AM on Friday, October 10, 2025, at the Basilica of St. Stanislaus Kostka. The Very Reverend Patrick Arens will officiate.
A Celebration of Bob’s Life will be held at the Basilica of St. Stanislaus Kostka on Friday, October 10, 2025, from 10 a.m. until the time of the Mass.
Burial will be in the Money Creek Cemetery.
