ROBERT JOSEPH KLEINSCHMIDT

Robert J. Kleinschmidt, age 68, passed away on Saturday, April 15, 2017, at Lake Winona Manor.

He was born on November 8, 1948, to Edward and Altrude (Kulas) Kleinschmidt.  “Bob” as he was known to his family and friends, was an intelligent and warm person, and more importantly, partner for 28 years with the love of his life, Judith.  Bob graduated from St. Mary’s University in 1971 with a Bachelor of Arts degree, majoring in philosophy.  He then traveled the United States, eventually opening a business in La Crosse, WI, and finally coming home to his roots in Winona in 1989.  Bob liked to spend his time on long walks, visiting auctions, reading philosophy books, listening to music, watching movies, cooking, as well as giving advice to three boys he was trying to help raise.

Bob is survived by his life partner: Judi; siblings: Edward (Frances) Mayes, Anne (Paul) Gelbmann, Mary  Jo (Robert) Keiper, and Sharon (Dick) Dart; and his best friend: Iggy.  He will be missed by all.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

Bob’s family would like to thank Dr. Bottner of Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center and all their staff, Winona Health Hospital, and Lake Winona Manor for all of their support.

According to Bob’s wishes, there will be no services held.
