Robert P. Flom

Robert Patrick Flom, age 82, of Winona, peacefully entered his Heavenly home on February 28, 2026. He loved and was loved by all of his family and friends and will be dearly missed. When it was his time, Jesus took his hand and led him home.

Bob was born March 3, 1943, to Harold Orlando and Mary Louise (Perron) Flom in Faribault, MN. He enjoyed his childhood with loving parents and brother Jerry. He was involved in football and wrestling in high school and retained a love of the former via cheering for the Minnesota Vikings all his life. He loved to fish and was always in pursuit of that elusive, gigantic walleye.

After graduating in 1961 he joined the Marine Corps. After he was discharged, he married Ruth Ann Nichols and they were blessed with a son, Corbin Scott. At that time while in Burbank he was employed with Jostens Inc. and continued to work for them after moving back to Minnesota.

Bob married Bonnie Irene Novosad on October 26, 1979. They received God‘s gifts of son, Matthew Robert and daughter, Melissa Louise. They moved from the lake in Faribault to live in Winona from 1995 to 2008 where Bob worked for WinCraft as Executive Vice President of Business Operations.

After retirement, Bob and Bonnie moved to a lake home in Wisconsin to continue chasing that elusive, gigantic walleye. He caught the big one the very day they moved to North Pipe Lake and Bonnie convinced him that to release it would be good luck. She was wrong, but he had fun continuing to try anyway. He also enjoyed golf and pheasant hunting trips to South Dakota with work friends and watching the Minnesota Vikings. While at St. Martin’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Winona, Bob served as Treasurer for the Lutheran Student Fellowship organization (WSU students) for many years. In recent years, he most enjoyed spending time with his family and watching his grandchildren enjoy the lake home as much as he did.

Bob was dedicated to his faith, his family and his career and he achieved success in all.

He was a kind, people-friendly, gentle man with a great sense of humor and a gift for bringing out the best in others. His charismatic nature was appreciated by everyone around him. He was loved deeply and most assuredly. In kind, his love and support for his family was constant and resolute.

Our hearts are broken, but they are also full; full of gratitude for the years we had and the legacy of love he leaves behind. He will be deeply missed, forever cherished, and always carried with us.

He had a good life. Thanks be to God. Blessed be his memory.

He is survived by his loving wife Bonnie; children: Corbin (Tracy) and Melissa (Tyler) Buss; grandchildren: (Corbin) Hannah, Jacob, Sam, Alex and Lucas; and (Melissa) Thomas and Joseph Buss; sisters-in-law: Karen Meyer, Vicki Olson (Gary), Brenda Pautsch, Diane Rodgers (Jim), and LeaAnn Novosad; and many nieces and nephews and their families.

He was preceded in death by his parents Harold and Mary Flom; father-in-law and mother-in-law: William C. Novosad and Irene M. Novosad; son, Matthew; brother, Gerald; and brothers-in-law: Charlie Novosad, Wilbert Pautsch, and H. John Meyer.
