RICHARD R. NIBBE

Richard R. Nibbe, age 76, of Winona, passed away on Monday, October 9, 2017, at his home.

He was born on December 5, 1940, in Milwaukee, WI, and was adopted by Ray and Edna (Huus) Nibbe.  Richard received his BA in Mathematics from Carleton College in Northfield, MN, and went on to earn a BS in Electrical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin – Madison.

For over 30 years, he worked as an Electrical Engineer for Honeywell in the Twin Cities, and later moved to Winona to work with RiverStar Electronics.

Richard married Kathleen Pollard on August 30, 1969, in Minneapolis.

He was a member of the Eagles Club, the Winona Gun Club, and he enjoyed meeting his friends for coffee at McDonald’s.   Richard will be remembered for his love of fishing, hunting birds and deer, and boating – especially on Mille Lacs Lake.

Richard is survived by his wife, Kathy, Winona; daughter: Liesl Pollard Nibbe (Joel Sather), Twin Cities, MN; brother: Rev. Thomas (Priscilla) Nibbe, San Francisco, CA; brothers-in-law: Charles (Carol) Pollard and Jerry Butler; as well as other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be held from 10 AM until the funeral service at 11 AM on Tuesday, October 17, 2017, at Central Lutheran Church in Winona.  The Reverend Thomas Nibbe and The Reverend Jan Mehlhoff will officiate.

It is respectfully suggested that memorials be directed to the Salvation Army.
