Raymond J. Ebertowski, age 84, of Lewiston, MN, passed away on Monday, November 6, 2023, at his home.
He was born on March 27, 1939, in Winona, to Zigmund and Florence (Kujak) Ebertowski, and was a graduate of Cotter High School.
Ray honorably served his country with the United States Air Force from 1957-1961, being stationed in Colorado Springs, CO. It was here that he met his wife, Jacqueline “Jackie” Tyler, and they were married on May 6, 1961, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Colorado Springs, CO. Following their marriage and Ray’s discharge from the military, they returned to live in Winona. Jackie preceded him in death on October 22, 2017.
Ray was employed for 35 years with Peerless Chain Company, and he was a member of the Basilica of St. Stanislaus Kostka.
He will be remembered for his love of the outdoors where he enjoyed hunting and fishing. Ray was very family-oriented, and especially cherished the time he spent with his children and grandchildren. Ray actively followed the Minnesota Twins and Vikings sport teams.
Ray is lovingly survived by his children: Mark (Angela) Ebertowski, Minneapolis, Patrick (Lisa) Ebertowski, Winona, Peter Ebertowski, Walden, CO, Elizabeth (Duane) DuBois, Winona, Thomas Ebertowski, Lewiston; 11 grandchildren: Wesley, Olivia, Chris (Kelsey), Hailey (Nick), Claire, Cole, Logan, Alexia, Aubrey, Aria, and Hannah; 4 great-grandchildren: Erin, Alaina, Parker, and Trey; sister: Bernice Gilbert, Woodbury, MN; brother: Dennis (Joni) Ebertowski, Minnesota City; sister-in-law: Chrystelle “Chris” Vinyard, Colorado Springs, CO; close friends: Rosella “Rose” Weideman, Winona, and cousin, Al Kujak; as well as many nieces and nephews, other relatives, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife; son, Paul Ebertowski; parents; Jackie’s parents: Edgar and Madonna (Fancher) Tyler; and brothers-in-law: Kurtis Kuestermeyer, Charlie Gilbert, KC Tyler, and Jimmy Ed Tyler.
Visitation will be held from 2 PM until 5 PM on Sunday, November 12, 2023, at the Watkowski-Mulyck Funeral Home, 376 E. Sarnia St., Winona, where a Christian Wake Service will be held at 4:30 PM. Visitation will also be held at the Basilica of St. Stanislaus Kostka on Monday, November 13, 2023, from 10:30 AM until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM. The Reverend Russell Scepaniak will officiate. Ray will be laid to rest in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
