Philip O. Mrozek, age 71, of Winona, passed away on Thursday, June 24, 2021, at his daughter’s home in Winona.
He was born on July 15, 1949, in Milwaukee, to Alvin and Dorothy (Krousey) Mrozek. After graduating from high school, Phil honorably served his country with the United States Army during the Vietnam War, and received a Purple Heart for his service.
Phil was united in marriage with Teresa Kronebusch, and together had three children: Mischelle, John, and Lisa. Phil and Teresa later divorced. He later married Sharon Dillehay, and together they had two children, Joe and Dan.
He was employed with Peerless Chain for many years, and will be remembered for his love of fishing, restoring old farm machinery, and being an excellent cook. Phil was extremely proud of his children, and he loved the time he spent with his grandchildren. He will be especially missed by all those who knew and loved him the most.
Phil is survived by his wife, Sharon; children: Mischelle Abts, John Mrozek, Lisa (Curt Jonsgaard) Hamernik, Joe (Amanda) Mrozek, and Dan Mrozek; grandchildren: Jada Blom, Kayla Blom, Jocelyn Mrozek, and Barrett Mrozek; great-grandson: Walker, with another great-grandchild on the way; a brother: Bud (Lynn) Mrozek; as well as nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers: Mark and Bob Mrozek; and a son-in-law: Bill Abts.
Visitation will be held from noon until 2 PM on Thursday, July 1, 2021, at the Watkowski-Mulyck Funeral Home, 376 East Sarnia Street, Winona. Burial will follow in the Pieper’s Valley Cemetery, rural Fountain City, WI, where the American Legion Leon J. Wetzel Post 9 of Winona will provide military honors.
