Peggy E. Moss

Margaret Elizabeth "Peggy" Moss, age 79, of Winona, a beloved wife of 58 years, caring mother, sister, and friend to many, passed away peacefully on May 26, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.

Peggy was born on April 4, 1947, in Winona, MN, to William H. Olson and Gertrude (Rockwell) Olson, and was a graduate of Winona Senior High School, Class of 1965.

She lived in Sullivan, MO, for a short time where she met the love of her life, Donald L. Moss. They were married on May 4, 1968, in Sullivan, MO. In 1969, Peggy and Don moved back to Winona, MN. Peggy worked at Community Memorial Hospital for 37 ½ years before she retired. She loved her patients and got many joyful memories from her time there. Within a span of 10 years, Peggy and Don fostered 17 kids, with ages ranging from just days old to 16 years, and including twins. Peggy and Don had one child, Kevin.

Peggy enjoyed spending time with her family, but when she wasn't, it was either reading one of her books or baking. She always loved spending her time in the kitchen trying new recipes.

Peggy is survived by her loving husband, Donald L. Moss; her son, Kevin M. Moss (Nichole); grandsons: Devon J. Moss and Nick L. Moss; and granddaughter, Michaela E. Handke. Peggy’s siblings are: Mary Benedict, Gracie Harnish (Tim) and James Olson; as well as many nieces, nephews, and other family relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William H. Olson and Gertrude E. (Rockwell) Olson; and her siblings, Bill, Donna and Betty.
