Paul K. Bolduan

Paul K. Bolduan, age 95, of Winona, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 29, 2024, at Green Prairie Rehabilitation Center in Plainview, MN.

He was born on August 10, 1928, in Rochester MN, to Paul C. and Bertha J. (White) Bolduan and was a graduate of Rochester High School.

Paul honorably served his country with the United States Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict, from 1951-1953.

He was united in marriage with Arleta Leach on November 4, 1951, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Rochester, MN, and they have enjoyed 72 years of marriage together. 

Paul farmed in the St. Charles, MN, area until moving to his farm in Minneiska, MN, and was an avid carpenter who enjoyed constructing and working on various buildings on his farm. 

He was a member of St. Martin's Ev. Lutheran Church in Winona, MN, where he served as an usher, and was also active in the men's club. Paul attended Lutheran school in his elementary years of education in Rochester, MN.

Paul will be remembered for his love of Holiday celebrations, meals shared with family and friends, ice fishing, fishing for sunfish near the tubes by Prairie Island, playing 500, photography, genealogy and he enjoyed traveling with Arleta, especially on cruises and trips to Montana.

His greatest joy in life was his family, and he cherished the time that he spent with his children and grandchildren. He will be deeply missed by all who loved him the most.  

He is survived by his wife, Arleta Bolduan of Plainview, MN; one son, Douglas R. (Linda) Bolduan of Minneiska, MN; three daughters: Cheryl (James) Gensmer of Plainview, MN; Kathleen Bolduan of Wheaton, IL; and Kimberly (Moises Rojas) of Highland Park, IL.  He is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren; as well as other relatives and friends.

Paul was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Steven Bolduan; 2 infant grandchildren: Craig and Amy Bolduan; 2 infant brothers; his brother, Clarence; 2 sisters: Lorraine Barnes and Joyce Bolduan.

Visitation will be held at St Martin's Ev. Lutheran Church in Winona, MN, on Thursday, March 7, 2024, from 10 AM until the funeral service at 11AM. The Revered Richard A. Moore will officiate.

Paul will be laid to rest at Woodlawn Cemetery where the American Legion Leon J. Wetzel Post 9 of Winona will provide military honors.

Pallbearers will be: Trinity Bolduan, Brian Bolduan, Kerry Bolduan, Karl Gensmer, Michael Gensmer, Eric Gensmer and Charles Tincher.   Honorary pallbearers will be: Keith Bolduan, Jeffrey Bolduan, Moises Rojas, Ricky Tincher, Arleta Rojas, Mari Rojas and Elena Rojas.

The family respectfully requests that memorials be directed to Hope Lutheran High School in Winona, MN, or to Immanuel Lutheran School in Plainview, MN.
