Patricia M. (Kotlarz) Sweningson

Patricia Mary (Kotlarz) Sweningson, of Winona, passed away on April 15, 2026, at the age of 72.

Patty was born on January 13, 1954, in Arcadia, WI, to Benedict and Armella (Zywicki) Kotlarz. She was a graduate of Winona Senior High School, and worked in the food service industry, ORC, and other entities in the Winona area.

She is survived by her siblings: Beverly (David) Arnoldy, Nancy Borchert, and Kevin Kotlarz; sister-in-law, Sherry Kotlarz; as well as several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Ben and Armella; brother, Denis Kotlarz; brother and sister-in-law, Gary and Donna Kotlarz; brother-in-law, Roger Borchert; and her ex-husband, Rick Sweningson.

The family would like to extend their deepest appreciation to the numerous first responders from across Winona County, Minnesota, and Wisconsin, and anyone else who assisted in the search and recovery efforts for Patty.

Visitation will be held at the Watkowski-Mulyck Funeral Home, 376 E. Sarnia St., Winona, on Saturday, May 23, 2026, from 9 AM until the memorial service at 10:30 AM. Patty will be laid to rest in a private ceremony at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Winona.
