Patricia Ellen Anderson, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.
She was born on March 27, 1934, to John and Emma (Papenfuss) Flanigan. She was raised on the family farm in Nodine, MN, alongside her four siblings: Kathleen, John, Dennis, and Lucille “Ducky.”
On February 1, 1951, Pat married the love of her life, Gerald “Jerry” Anderson, and together they built a beautiful life sharing 72 wonderful years of marriage while raising seven children.
Pat found joy in life’s simple pleasures and treasured the memories made with family and friends. She and Jerry enjoyed attending many Polka festivals, camping in their many RVs, and taking yearly family fishing vacations to Lake Winnibigoshish. Above all, Pat’s greatest joy was her family – she loved nothing more than having loved ones gather to visit them in Winona or Arizona.
Pat is lovingly survived by her children: Stephen (Nancy) Anderson, Bonnie (Jim) Woodard, Jeffrey Anderson, Bryon (Marcia) Anderson, Kristi (Matthew) Speltz, and Kay (Tony) Lemieux; along with 18 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, 6 great-great-grandchildren, sisters-in-law: Grace Walters and Nancy Flanigan; as well as many extended family members and friends who will cherish her memory.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald “Jerry” Anderson; son, Ricky Anderson; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Raymond and Lorna Anderson; siblings: Kathleen (Ray) Nagle, John (Jean) Flanigan, Dennis Flanigan, and Lucille (Wayne) Habeck; and in-laws: Charlie and Marlene Anderson, and Wayne Walters.
Graveside services will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, May 30, 2026, at Cedar Valley Lutheran Cemetery in rural Winona, with the Rev. Jeff Franko officiating. Following the burial, a celebration of Pat’s life will be held at the Winona American Legion Club, 302 E. Sarnia St., from 1 PM until 4 PM, where a time of sharing memories will be held at 1:30 PM.
Memorials may be directed to Winona Health Hospice, Benedictine – St. Anne, or to Cedar Valley Lutheran Church.
Pat’s family would like to extend their deepest appreciation to Winona Health Hospice and to Benedictine – St. Anne for the wonderful and loving care that she received.
Pat will be remembered for her warmth, devotion to family, and the many memories she created with those whom she loved. Her legacy of love and togetherness will live on in all those who knew her.
