Michael E. Womble

Michael E. Womble, age 78, of Winona, passed away on Thursday, February 26, 2026, at the Emplify Health Hospital in La Crosse.

Mike was born on October 18, 1947, in Wabasha, MN, to Eugene and Ruth (Cieminski) Womble, and was a graduate of Winona Senior High School. Mike honorably served his country with the United States Army from March 1967 to August 1983. He was united in marriage with Marsha L. Drugan on May 4, 1968.

Mike was employed in electronics repair with Winona Fire and Power where he was also a part owner, Volkmann Appliance and TV, and lastly with Williamson Music until his retirement.

Since his teenage years, Mike was an avid Ham Radio operator and a member of the Winona Ham Radio Club, and he also attended aviation courses at Winona State and obtained his pilot’s license. Mike was a lover of the outdoors and enjoyed feeding birds and wildlife around his home, as well as spending time with his family.

Mike is lovingly survived by his wife, Marsha; daughters: Lisa (Matthew) Schumacher and Gina (T) Bracht; grandchildren: Hannah, Joshua, Emily, and Jamie; siblings: Candy (Gene) Zimmerman, Betsy (Terry) Devorak, Robert (Debra) Palbicki, and Jeannene (Steven) Sutton; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A celebration of Mike’s life will be held at the Watkowski-Mulyck Funeral Home on Saturday, March 7, 2026, from 2 PM until 5 PM.

The family respectfully requests that memorials be directed to the Winona Humane Society.
