Michael "Mike" J. Gierok

Michael J. “Mike” Gierok, age 55, of Winona, passed away on Saturday, December 6, 2025, following a battle with cancer for the last several years.

He was born on November 23, 1970, in La Crosse, WI, and held various jobs with several local companies.

Mike will be remembered as a jack-of-all-trades who loved anything outdoors, where he especially enjoyed hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed making turkey calls, and as a member of the National Wild Turkey Federation, his turkey calls placed in their annual call competition.

Mike is survived by his wife, Annie; children: Hunter (Sarah Lemke) Gierok and Noah Gierok; mother: Evelyn (Ron Henderson) Gierok; sisters: Mary (Mark) Mugan, Paula Mohr, and Kelly Fisher; nieces: Casandra Opkis, Brandi Opkis, Amanda Opkis; as well as other relatives and many friends that will miss him.

He was preceded in death by his nephew and Godson, Zachary Opkis.

Services will be held privately.
