Mary Ann Haines, age 86, of Winona, passed away on Thursday, October 30, 2019, at the Country Terrace in Black River Falls, WI.
Mary Ann was born on February 16, 1933, in Dodge, WI, to Albert and Anastasia (Gostkowski) Pellowski, and was a graduate of Arcadia High School. She was united in marriage with Henry Haines on June 2, 1953, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Pine Creek, WI, and he preceded her in death on January 21, 2018.
She was a member of the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart, where she headed the funeral lunch committee for many years, and she was a member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas - Winona Court #191.
Mary Ann will be remembered for her love of flowers, gardening, canning, and traveling with Henry. She also enjoyed playing cards, painting, and exercising at the YMCA. Mary Ann was a dedicated homemaker, and she treasured the time that she spent with her family and grandchildren, who were her pride and joy.
Mary Ann is lovingly survived by her sons: Ronald Haines, Pickwick, MN; and Gerald (Judy) Haines, Arcadia, WI; grandchildren: Jeff, Jessica, and Johanna Haines, all of Arcadia; sisters-in-law: Theresa Korpal, Milwaukee, WI, and Alicia Pellowski, Hot Springs, AR; nieces and nephews: Mary (John) Suddie, Chicago, IL; Anastasia Bjerkos, Chicago, IL; Paul (Sonja) Bjerkos, Westby, WI; Michael Bjerkos, Westby, WI; Richard Losinski, St. Paul, MN; and Joe (Judy) Losinski, Winona; as well as other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband; son, Robert Haines; her parents; brothers: Lambert and Ed Pellowski; sisters: Gert Bjerkos and Helen Losinski; niece: Millie (Bjerkos) Wood; and nephew: Donnie Losinski.
Visitation will be held from 10 AM until the Mass of Christian Burial at noon on Monday, November 4, 2019, at the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart. The Very Reverend Mark C. McNea will officiate. Mary Ann will be laid to rest at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
Memorials may be directed to Alzheimer’s research.
