Mary M. Maloney

Mary M. Maloney, age 78, of Winona, passed away on Tuesday, September 22, 2026.

She was born on January 6, 1948, in Mason City, IA, to Francis and Myrna (Walter) Stork, and was a graduate of Cotter High School in Winona.

Mary was united in marriage with Dennis P. Maloney on November 25, 1967, at the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart in Winona, and he preceded her in death on July 22, 2022.

She was employed for many years with the Department of Motor Vehicles in Winona County.

Throughout her life, Mary was active with her church and was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Winona. She enjoyed socializing with her friends, but her greatest joy was spending time with her family and attending her grandsons’ sporting events. She will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved her.

Mary is lovingly survived by her sons: Mark (Alissa) Maloney, and their children: Keagan, Drew, and Owen; Brian (Gina) Maloney, and their children: Cayla and Mason; brother: Allan (Sue) Stork; in-laws: Colleen Stork and Mike (Becky) Maloney; her special life-long friend, Sue McLaughlin; as well as many nieces, nephews, in-laws, cousins, other relatives, and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dennis; son, Sean; parents, Frank and Myrna Stork; in-laws: Patrick and Elaine Maloney; brothers: Jack and Ed Stork; and brothers-in-law: Tim Maloney and Ben Hoffman.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10:30 AM on Monday, October 5, 2026, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Winona. Fr. Russell Scepaniak will officiate. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery.

Visitation will be held at the Watkowski-Mulyck Funeral Home, 376 E. Sarnia St., Winona, on Sunday, October 4, 2026, from 1 PM until 3 PM, where a Christian Wake Service will be held at 2:45 PM. Visitation will also be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church on Monday, October 5, 2026, from 9:30 AM until the time of the Mass.

Honorary pallbearers will be Mary’s grandsons.

Mary’s family would like to extend their deepest appreciation to the nurses and staff of Winona Health Hospice for the loving care she received.
