Mary Henning, 81, of Winona passed away on Saturday, March 20, 2021 at Callista Court.
She was born on July 19, 1939, to Edward and Emily Zimmerman. She married Bill Henning on February 26, 1966; he preceded her in death on January 26, 2005. Also preceding her in death was a step-daughter Sharon Sweazey.
She is survived by a son, Jeffrey (Lucy) Henning; a daughter, Kelly (Mark) Moga; a step-daughter, Peggy (James) Doran; grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
While still in her home Mary enjoyed reading, painting ceramics, planting flowers, gardening, feeding the birds, putting together puzzles on the porch that Bill added to their house. While at Callista Court, she flourished socially making many new friends to do things with including playing cards, bingo, craft projects, getting her nails painted, and of course weekly happy hour. She always enjoyed decorating for the holidays even while at Callista Court she picked an apartment that had a small outside area for her to put up decorations.
She will be greatly missed by family and friends.
Visitation will be held from 10 AM until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM on Saturday, March 27, 2021, at the Basilica of St. Stanislaus Kostka. Mary will be laid to rest in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Those attending will be required to wear a mask and to follow social distancing guidelines.
It is respectfully requested that memorials be directed to the Basilica of St. Stanislaus Kostka.
