MARIE G. RAMCZYK

Marie G. Ramczyk, age 89, of Winona, passed away on Sunday, October 22, 2017, at Lake Winona Manor.

She was born on April 22, 1928, in Winona, to John and Martha (Zimmerman) Bescup.  She was united in marriage with Edward Ramczyk on May 25, 1957, at the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart in Winona, and he preceded her in death on January 31, 1991.

Marie was very devoted to her Catholic faith, and was a member of St. John Nepomucene Church, and she enjoyed attending Mass at the Basilica of St. Stanislaus Kostka.   She looked forward to attending the annual church bazaars, and for the opening of Lakeview Drive-In each spring.  She will be remembered for being an excellent ice skater, and she was fluent in speaking German and Polish.

Marie was a caring and loving person, who enjoyed taking care of others.  For many years she babysat and did daycare from her home – she treated and loved all of the children as her own, and she was always willing to babysit on short notice.  She was also a loving caregiver to her sister, Peggy, and to her daughter, Gail.  She will be fondly remembered and missed by all those who knew and loved her.

Marie is lovingly survived by her son, Dennis, and daughter, Gail; her beloved cat, Billy; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and her brothers and sisters: Tom Bescup, Leo Bescup, Ann Petty, Cecelia Lejk, Catherine Johnstone, and Peggy Juneau.

Visitation will be held from 4 PM until 6 PM with a time of sharing at 5:30 PM, on Thursday, October 26, 2017, at the Watkowski-Mulyck Funeral Home.  Visitation will also be held from 9 AM until the Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM on Friday, October 27, 2017, at St. John Nepomucene Church, 560 East Broadway.  The Reverend Monsignor Thomas J. Hargesheimer will officiate.

Marie will be laid to rest in St. Mary’s Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be: Jim Lejk, Steve Walters, Mark Walters, and Todd Walters.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully asks that Masses be offered for Marie and Ed.

Marie’s family would like to extend their thanks to Dr. Charles Shepard for the many years of care that he gave; to Dr. Joseph Kaiya and the staff in ICU at Winona Health; to the staff of Lake Winona Manor who gave excellent care during Marie’s short stay with them; and especially to Margaret Ronia for the comfort and support that she gave to Gail.
