Margaret B. Sultze, age 89, of Winona, passed away on Monday, September 18, 2023, at her home.

She was born on October 20, 1933, in Galesville, WI, to Arthur and Muriel (Perring) Irvine, and was a 1951 graduate of Galesville High School.  Margaret graduated from the La Crosse State University in 1953, and taught for one year at the Grant School in Galesville, WI.

Margaret was united in marriage with Raymond A. Sultze on August 31, 1952, in Winona, MN. and he preceded her in death on April 1, 2012.  They lived in La Crosse, Galesville, Onalaska, and finally built a home in Lamoille, MN, moving there in 1966.

Margaret and Ray were active members of the Wandering Sams, Chapter of the Good Sams, and enjoyed camping in their motorhome and travel trailer at Whispering Pines.  She loved birds, flowers, Poetry, knitting, crocheting, putting puzzles together and Christmas baking. She also enjoyed traveling and always treasured being around family and friends.  They were known for decorating every Holiday, but especially at Christmas time they would light up the Lamoille area.  Their Christmas lights could be seen from Highway 61 for all to enjoy.

Margaret is lovingly survived by her sons: Michael (Sara), Winona, MN; Duane (Jane), Rochester, MN; Roger (Sandy), Winona, MN; Steven (special friend, Debra), Winona MN; daughter, Vivian (Dave) Angst, Goodview MN; 16 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; one great great grandchild; sister-in-law: Dorothy Marquardt; as well as other relatives and friends.  She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; a grandson, Jonathan; 1 sister and 3 brothers.

Honoring her wishes, there will not be any funeral services held.

Our family would like to extend our sincere thanks and gratitude to the Gunderson Hospice staff for all the care and compassion they gave to our mom during her time at home on hospice care.  Also, a huge thank you to the neighbors for always keeping an eye on her and helping her out.
