Helen Lynn Czaplewski

Lynn Czaplewski, 82, a lifelong resident of Winona, MN, died Tuesday, November 21, 2023, at Southview Acres in St. Paul, MN, where she resided the past year.

Lynn was born on October 20, 1941, in Winona, MN, to Thadeous and Helen Glubka. She grew up in Winona and attended St. Stanislaus Elementary School and Cotter High School. After graduation, she moved to St. Paul, but soon returned to Winona to marry the love of her life, Robert (Bob) Czaplewski. They married on February 11, 1961, at St. Stanislaus Kostka Church in Winona.

Following their marriage, they resided in Winona where they raised their four children. Lynn was a homemaker while her children were young. Once they were grown, she worked at the College of St. Teresa, SEMCAC, and Brosnahan Law Firm.

Lynn’s hobbies and interests included bowling, gardening, home decorating, watching fast-pitch softball, cheering on the Vikings, and spending time on the river. Lynn and Bob also enjoyed traveling. Their favorite spot was at their timeshare on Fort Myers Beach where they spent three weeks every year for 25 years.

Lynn is survived by her four children: Vicky Czaplewski, Red Wing, MN; Matthew (Sallie) Czaplewski, Rochester, MN; Mark (Laurie) Czaplewski, Rochester, MN; Scott Czaplewski, Eagan, MN; grandchildren: Ryan (Camille) Bruns; Reid (Renae) Bruns; Chloe (Emily) Czaplewski; Robert (Nilo) Czaplewski; and Taylor (Colby) Salonek; and four great grandchildren: Eily, Bennett, Brecken and Hadley. She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert (Bob) Czaplewski and parents.

Visitation will be held from 9:30 AM until the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM on Saturday, May 18, 2024, at the Basilica of St. Stanislaus Kostka.  The Very Reverend Patrick Arens will officiate.  Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
