Lois D. Stark

Lois Diane Stark, age 75, of Winona, joined the Church Triumphant on July 16, 2026, after a short but courageous battle of cancer.

Lois was born on December 10, 1950, to David and Arlene (Brevig) Stark in Winona, Minnesota. She was baptized and renewed her baptismal vow through the rite of confirmation at St. Martin’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Winona, Minnesota, where she was a life-long member. She graduated from Winona Senior High School and earned a degree from Winona State University.

Her first job was at Red Owl Country Store as a clerk. She was a devoted church secretary at St. Martin’s for over 45 years, and volunteered her time in multiple capacities including LWML, Jubilation Choir, Prayer Shawl Ministry, and Sunday Bible study. Lois enjoyed various crafts, photography, making lefse and flatbread with her sisters, and joining family and friends on different outings.

Lois is survived by her siblings: Dennis (Susan) Stark, Janice (Greg) Dienger, Joyce (Dale) Camerer, and Bruce (Debbie) Stark; her beloved nieces and nephews: Heather (Jake) Appel and Natalie and Nolan, Heath (Shannon) Dienger and Emilyn, Tim Stark and Olivia, Andrea (Jack) Merwin and Elliot and Ethan, Michelle (Ryan) Taylor, Brittany (Eric) Morello, as well as aunts, uncles, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and a nephew, Ted Jessessky.

Visitation will be held at St. Martin’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Winona on Friday, July 24, 2026, from 12:30 PM until the funeral service at 2 PM.

She will receive Christian burial at the Fountain City Public Cemetery in Fountain City, Wisconsin.

The family suggests sending donations in memorial to St. Martin’s Lutheran Church Building Fund, St. Martin’s Radio Ministry, or to The Lutheran Hour.
