Linda L. Brokaw

Linda L. Brokaw, age 74, of Winona, peacefully passed away on Thursday, May 14, 2026, at her home.

Born on July 5, 1951, in Winona to Arvel and Alvera (Prigge) Allred, Linda was a 1969 graduate of Winona Senior High School. On February 26, 1972, she married Jeffrey L. Brokaw, with whom she shared 54 wonderful years of marriage.

Linda began working in the office of JC Penney’s, and then went on to work for 40 years with the Winona School District, serving as a secretary at Jefferson, Rollingstone, and Madison Schools. She found great joy not only in her work, but especially in the many relationships she built with the students over the years.

She will be fondly remembered for her love of playing BINGO, trips to the casino, and enjoying coffee and fellowship with friends. Above all, Linda’s greatest joy was her family, who will deeply miss her warmth and kindness.

Linda is lovingly survived by her husband, Jeff; her children, Sean Brokaw and Berk (Carrie) Brokaw; her grandson, Brandon Brokaw; great-grandson, Carson Brokaw; siblings: Robert (Beth) Allred, Dar Troke (good friend, Terry Stolpa), Richard (Cathie) Allred, and Bill (Sara) Allred; sisters-in-law, Claudia Allred and Lynn (Rick) Banicki; brother-in-law, Tom Brokaw; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Raymond.

Visitation will be held at the Watkowski-Mulyck Funeral Home, 376 E. Sarnia St., on Thursday, May 21, 2026, from noon until 2 PM, which will include a time of remembrance. Following the visitation, a luncheon and reception will take place at the American Legion Club, 302 E. Sarnia St., Winona.

Linda will be laid to rest at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery in Preston, MN, at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that memorial contributions be made to the Building Fund of the Winona American Legion Club.
