LeRoy F. Kohner

LeRoy Francis Kohner, age 94, of Winona, passed away peacefully on August 27, 2026.

He was born February 19, 1932, to Edwin Kohner and Frances (Farr) in Winona, Minnesota. He served in both the Air Force and the Army for a total of 20 years, retiring back to his hometown of Winona where he worked several different jobs throughout his retirement.

An avid bowler, LeRoy spent decades on the lanes. He joined numerous leagues over his life, winning countless trophies, making lifelong friends, and continuing to bowl right up until the age of 94.

Known for his gentle nature and big heart, LeRoy was a kind, loving, and steadfast presence to those around him.

He leaves behind a son, Bruce Kohner; a granddaughter, Cassie Dalaska; a sister Deb (Ralph) Wehlage as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Edwin Jr. and Donald; and sisters, Mary, Ginny, and Louise.

His warmth and quiet devotion will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

A special thanks to the staff at Benedictine - St. Anne in Winona.

In honor of LeRoy's wishes, there will be a small, private graveside service with military honors for the family.
