Larry D. Brand, age 73, of Winona, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 21, 2020, in the comfort of his home on the family farm.
He was born on April 10, 1947, in Winona, to Franklin and Vera (Braatz) Brand, and was united in marriage with Sharon Papenfuss on October 22, 1966, in Winona.
Larry was employed as a tool and die maker and was a co-owner of Stellar Mold and Tool in Galesville, WI. He loved farming and was proud of raising Black Angus beef cattle.
He was a member of St. Martin’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, and was a member and past-president of the TQC three-wheeler club.
Larry will be remembered for his love of the outdoors, where he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and racing. He was also an avid collector of guns and tractors, and he was a huge Jeep enthusiast. His greatest joy in life was his family, and he especially cherished the time he spent with his grandchildren. He will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved him.
Larry is lovingly survived by his wife, Sharon; children: Angela Modjeski, and Troy (Sue) Brand; grandchildren: Bethany (Dan) Gunderson, Nickolay Scanlan, Juliana Scanlan, Ethan Scanlan, and Cassidy Brand; great-grandchildren: Aurora and Trinity; brother: Frank (Darleen) Brand; brother-in-law: Dennis Papenfuss; aunts: Jean Engler and Lorraine “Tudy” Feine; nieces: Cynthia (Pat) Ebert and Nicole (John) Fletcher; nephew: Jeffrey (Jana) Brand; as well as other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Franklin and Vera Brand, and his in-laws: Clyde and Irene Papenfuss.
Due to current health concerns and restrictions, a family service will be held on the family farm.
