Katherine J. Millen

Katherine J. Millen, age 74, of Winona, passed away on Saturday, January 17, 2026, at Lake Winona Manor.

She was born on January 4, 1952, in Winona, to Patrick, Sr. and Sophie (Wager) Millen, and was a graduate of Winona Senior High School and the Winona Vo-Tech.

Kathy will be remembered for her enjoyment of sewing, making quilts, and how she was affectionately known as “the squirrel lady.” Her strong Christian faith brought her much comfort throughout her life which included attending Cornerstone Community Church and Bible studies with her friends.

She will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved her the most.

Kathy is lovingly survived by her children: Lisa (Jeff) Burkhalter and James (Shannon) Burkhalter; grandchildren: Tim, Tiffany, Felicia, Zachary, Brayden, and Ali; great-grandchildren: Paisley, Ellawyn, Oakley, Aubriella, Tavion, Sebastian, and Nicholas; brothers: Mike and Patrick, Jr.; niece, Heather; as well as other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two infant great-grandchildren; and her sister, Sharon.

A celebration of Kathy’s life will be held at the Watkowski-Mulyck Funeral Home on Saturday, January 24, 2026, from 1 PM until 3 PM, where Pastor Gregg Olcott will lead a service at 2 PM.

Kathy’s family would like to extend their deepest appreciation to Watkins Manor, Lake Winona Manor, and Winona Health Hospice, for the excellent and loving care that she received.
