Joyce D. Ressie

Joyce D. Ressie, age 78, of Lewiston, MN, passed away on Friday, February 20, 2026, at the Lewiston Senior Living in Lewiston, MN.

She was born on March 13, 1947, in Dover, MN, to Henry and Leona (Seefeldt) Walters, and was a graduate of the Plainview High School. After high school, Joyce and her twin sister worked at the Methodist Hospital in Rochester for a number of years. 

Joyce was united in marriage with George E. “Butch” Ressie on February 21, 1970, at Grace Ev. Lutheran Church in Stockton, MN.

Joyce was employed with the Lewiston Villa and later with Riverside Electronics. She was a member of Grace Ev. Lutheran Church in Stockton and had a deep Christian faith.

She will be remembered for her enjoyment of doing word search puzzles, dancing, and playing cards – especially 500. She will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved her the most.

Joyce is lovingly survived by her husband, George “Butch”; daughters: Vikki (Dave) Rothmeyer and Lisa Horman; grandchildren: Brianna Rothmeyer, Blake Rothymeyer, Tyler (Heather) Horman, and Dalton Horman; great-grandchildren: Casey, Allison, and Boden; siblings: Gene (Joanne) Walters, Ronald (Cathy) Walters, Lois Leuth, Joanne (Dick) Paukert; in-laws: Kathy Walters, Tom Fix, Diane (Jerry) Rau, Cindra (Richard) Andolshek, and Roxanne (Bob) Wold; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her son, Bobbie Edward; parents; and siblings: Melvin (Sharon) Walters, Gerald Walters, Marie (John) Lewis, and Bonnie Fix.

Visitation will be held from 11 AM until the funeral service at noon on Sunday, March 8, 2026, at Grace Ev. Lutheran Church, 8110 W. Main St. (Highway 14) in Stockton, MN. The Reverend William Meilner will officiate. Joyce will be laid to rest at the Oakland Cemetery in Stockton at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that memorials be directed to Grace Ev. Lutheran Church in Stockton, or to Winona Health Hospice.
