Joseph Weaver, Sr.

Joseph T. Weaver Sr, age 68, of Winona, passed away at his home on Friday, March 31, 2023.

Joe was born on May 11, 1954, in Arcadia, WI, to Phillip and Joyce (Pittenger) Weaver, Sr.

Joe lived in Arcadia after graduating and served for a short time in the Army National Guard. He then moved to La Crosse, WI, and for a while owned his own taxi company. Finally, he moved to Winona where he drove taxi for Economy Cab, with many knowing him as “Cabby Joe”.

Joe is survived by his 7 children and 5 grandchildren: Crystal (Michael) Dougherty currently stationed in S. Korea; Joseph Weaver, Jr., La Crosse WI; Candace Weaver, Winona MN; James Weaver, Fountain City WI; Jeremy Dallmann of Florida; Jenny Rose Weaver, La Crosse, WI; and Johnathan Weaver; brothers: Paul (Lorna) Weaver, Arcadia WI; David Weaver, La Crosse, WI; and sister, Frances (Jeff) Pedretti, La Crosse, WI.

A celebration of Joe’s life will be held from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM on Friday, May 12, 2023, at the Sobieski Park Lodge, located at 965 East 7th Street in Winona. For details, please email: candyweaver.cw@gmail.com.
