Joseph Schneider

On the Feast Day of St. John Paul II, October 22, 2020, Joseph A. Schneider, age 61, of Lake City, and formerly of Winona, was welcomed into the Kingdom of Heaven, and reunited with his beloved mom and dad.

He was born on August 6, 1959, in Winona, to Alois and Delores (Koeth) Schneider, and was a graduate of Winona Senior High School.

Joe was employed with Winona Paint and Glass, and later moved to Lake City where he was the co-owner of Lake City Glass.  Joe was a jack-of-all trades who could do or fix almost anything, and more recently, he enjoyed helping others by doing odd jobs and handyman work.

Joe will be remembered for his excellent green thumb, and the perfect produce he would grow to share with his family and friends.  He had a deep love for dogs, and was a kind, gentle, honest, and hard-working man with beautiful blue eyes.  Joe will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved him.

Joe is lovingly survived by his siblings: Ann (Bryan) Dulas; Thomas (Colleen) Schneider; Patricia (the late Gary) Petschow; Linda (Chris) Corcoran; Daniel Schneider; and John (Andrea) Schneider; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved dog, Emma; and a brother-in-law: Gary Petschow.

A private family funeral service was held.

The family respectfully requests that memorials be directed to the Winona Area Humane Society.

Joe’s family would like to extend their appreciation to his friends in Lake City, especially Marion and Tom, Ducky, “the Twins,” Gail, and the many other friends who loved Joe, for all of the support he has received over the last several years.

Online condolences or memories may be left for Joe’s family at
