Joseph Loshek

Joseph F. Loshek, age 67, of Winona, passed away on Saturday, June 15, 2019.

He was born on November 10, 1951, in Winona, to Joseph and Eleanore (Malotke) Loshek.  Following high school, Joe graduated from Winona State, where he received his Bachelor of Science degree in Education.

Joe honorably served his country with the United States Army in Vietnam, and was a member of the American Legion.

He was an excellent artist, and taught Art and Special Education with the Houston, MN, school district, and was later employed with Thern, Inc. and Winona Lighting.  As an avid outdoorsman, he especially enjoyed hunting, fishing, trap shooting, golf, softball, baseball, and football.  He was also a member of the Minnesota City Boat Club, Winona Sportsmans Club, the Winona Archers, and the NRA.

Joe will be remembered by his family and friends as someone that they could always depend on, and who will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved him.

He is lovingly survived by his nephews: Shane Loshek, and Bob (Laura) Loshek; great-niece: Corrina; great-nephew: Stephen; as well as other relatives and friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Stephen.

A celebration of Joe’s life will be held from 4 PM until 6 PM on Friday, June 21, 2019, at the Watkowski-Mulyck Funeral Home, where the American Legion Leon J. Wetzel Post 9 of Winona will provide military honors at 6 PM.  Following the military honors, a gathering will be held at Sloppy Joe’s, 526 East Third Street (corner of Hamilton and East Third Streets).
