Jean Hagedorn

Jean (Olson) Hagedorn, age 60, of Winona, passed away on Sunday, January 30, 2022.

Now that my journey here is complete, I am off on my next adventure.

Known for her sarcastic, witty, humorous, and spontaneous personality, almost nothing became off limits.  The mass amounts of spur-of-the moment memories should, and will, be cherished forever by her family and friends.

Born on March 3, 1961, to Lily (Post) Holland and Clyde Olson, at 11:59 PM in Zumbrota, Minnesota, Jean came into the world with the doctors arguing which day was her birthday – she also used this down the road.

In her younger years, she sang in church choir and played piano for Sunday School.  Throughout school and into adulthood, she was athletic, participating in activities such as softball, track, and basketball.  Hiking, visiting 48 states and two countries was a large accomplishment for her.

Jean’s greatest joy in life, aside from her family, was taking care of the less fortunate.  She worked for various companies, while rising through the work ranks, all while helping teach differently abled people to live, thrive, and enjoy everyday life.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lily and Clyde; her maternal and paternal grandparents; as well as many amazing pets.

Jean is survived by her children and grandchild: Erin Hupf, Danielle (Ash Lynn Coulston) Hagedorn, and Parker Hagedorn, and Korbyn Louallen; her life partner, Ron Schloegel; sisters: Judy (Don) Zilm, Joy (Brent Hayes) Olson, and June (Mark) Ewert; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and let’s not forget the special friends that have touched her life in an amazing way: Greg, Matt, Grant, Naomi, Paine, Linda F., Dawn C., Terri V., all from Washington; and her special friends in Minnesota: Deb, Lori, Elaine, and Richard – not only were these life-long friends, but life-long partners in laughs!

A celebration of Jean’s life is being planned for a later date.
