Janice Stein

Janice Eileen Stein, age 65, of Winona, passed away on Sunday, September 23, 2018, at the Gundersen Health System Hospital in La Crosse, following a lengthy battle with cancer.

She was born on June 1, 1953, in Menomonie, WI, the youngest of four children of Eben and Gertrude (Buss) Smith.  Janice was previously married to Raymond Stein for 37 years.

Janice was employed with TRW, and more recently with Watkins, Inc.  As an excellent homemaker, Janice enjoyed taking care of her home and family, gardening, and doing embroidery work.  She will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved her.

Janice is survived by her children: Jay Stein, Palm Bay, FL; Rebecca (Gary) Eide, Houston, MN; and Jeffrey Stein, La Crescent, MN; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; siblings: John (Edna) Smith and June Ross; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents, and a sister, Jeanne.

A celebration of Janice’s life will be held from 1 PM until 5 PM on Saturday, September 29, 2018, at Holzinger Lodge in Winona.
