James Weaver, age 61, of Winona, passed away on Thursday, December 28, 2017, as the result of an auto accident.
He was born on July 3, 1956, in Winona, to Vincent and Phyllis (Rolbiecki) Weaver. After graduating from Winona Senior High School, Jim also completed training at the Winona Vo-Tech. Jim was united in marriage with Cindy Lafky on June 10, 1978, at St. Stanislaus Kostka Church in Winona.
He was employed with the Winona Knitting Mills for over 27 years, and then worked at Technigraph for 17 years. During the 90s, Jim enjoyed being a part of the Winona Police Reserve, where he served as a squad leader.
Jim will be remembered for always being on the go, and for his love of gardening, working in the yard, doing construction, wood working, and cheering for the Vikings. His faith and his family were the foundations of this life - he was the dependable cornerstone and peacemaker, who would do anything for his family, especially for Cindy. His great sense of humor and fun will be missed by all those who knew and loved him.
Jim is lovingly survived by his wife, Cindy; daughters: Shannon (Mike) Doberstein; Amber Weaver; and Brooke (Jason) Kammerer; grandchildren: Lorelei and Xander Doberstein, and Nathaniel Kammerer; sisters: Ruth (Ray) Hatten; Helen (Dale) Stampka; and Jean (Wade) Messerschmidt; brothers: Tom Weaver, and Sylvester (Pam) Weaver; mother-in-law and father-in-law: Janice and David Duellman; his faithful companions and best friends, his dogs, Maddie and Charlie; brother-in-law: Bruce (Mary Ann Jacob) Lafky; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Mary Ziemer; brother, Wayne Weaver; and an infant sister, Violet.
