James Fitzgerald

James E. Fitzgerald, age 77, of Winona, passed away on Wednesday, June 19, 2019, at his home.

He was born on January 29, 1942, in Winona, to John and Ruth (Struble) Fitzgerald.  Jim married Judy Kulas, and they divorced; and he later married Mary Jo Wood on July 29, 1971, in Winona.

Jim was employed for 30 years with Fiberite in Winona, and then with Technical Die Casting until his retirement.

He was a member of the Winona Civic Association, and of the Winona Bowling Association and its 700 Club.  Jim will be remembered for his love of Corvettes, flower gardening, visiting with his coffee group at Mc Donald’s, and as an avid golfer, he was proud of his hole-in-one that he made in 1989.

Jim is survived by his wife, Mary Jo; son: Kevin (Dina) Fitzgerald; daughter: Dana (Mike) Christensen; grandchildren: Jesse and Jacob Fitzgerald, and Kyle Christensen; brother: Don Fitzgerald; sister: Pat Cole; sister-in-law: Kay (Bruce) Norton; brother-in-law: Chris Wood; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his siblings: William and David Fitzgerald; and Jean Modrzejewski.

Visitation will be held from 4 PM until the funeral service at 6 PM on Friday, June 28, 2019, at the Watkowski-Mulyck Funeral Home.  Deacon Justin Green will officiate.  Following the service, a luncheon and reception will be held at the Winona American Legion, 302 East Sarnia Street.
