James R. Brust

James R. Brust, age 86, of Winona, passed away on Friday, March 21, 2025, at Lake Winona Manor.

Jim was born on July 12, 1938, to Fred and Irene Brust. He graduated from Winona High School in 1957.

In his younger years, he worked at the Winona and State Movie Theaters, Wilkenson’s Clothing Store, Michaels Clothing Store, and Gentlemen’s Quarters. He then worked at St. Anne’s and Roger Metz Manor until his retirement.

Jim is survived by his brother, William (Sondra) Brust, Minneapolis. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Irene Brust; sisters, Helen (Kwosek) Tamble and Marilyn (Gene) Johnson; and brothers, Richard (Mary) Brust and Fred (Jean) Brust, Jr.

According to Jim’s wishes, a private family service will be held. Jim will be laid to rest in Woodlawn Cemetery.
