James A. (Jim) Brennan

James A. (Jim) Brennan, age 77, of Winona, and formerly of Homer Valley, passed away on Saturday, April 4, 2026, at Sauer Health Care in Winona.

Jim was born in Winona on February 27, 1949, to Arthur and Sally (Jereczek) Brennan. The family lived on the Jereczek/Brennan farm. Jim attended elementary and high school in Winona, and graduated from Winona Senior High School in 1967.

He worked at Peerless Chain Company in Winona, and he retired from there to enjoy his retirement on the farm that he loved!

Jim is survived by his sister, Barbara Speltz, Onalaska, WI; nieces: Kathy Blackburn, Lori Anderson (Bob) and Amy Richardson (Kelly) of Texas; Mary Speltz (Sandy), Fountain City, WI; and Suzanne Speltz, Sheboygan, WI; nephew: Mark Speltz (Steve), La Crescent, MN; grand-niece, Kelsi Tombs (Scott), with son, SJ, and daughter, Lucy Jo, of Texas; and grand-nephew, Kyle Richardson (Lily) of Virginia.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Pat Blackburn; niece, Cindy Whitson; and brother-in-law, Everett Speltz.

There will be a celebration of Jim’s life held at a later time.

The family would like to thank the wonderful staffs of Sauer Health Care, Winona Health, and Winona Health Hospice for the excellent care and kindness that they gave to Jim and his family! They are the best of humanity!
